In vitro fertilization is a highly complex treatment that involves medical and biological procedures to facilitate the union of eggs (oocytes) and sperm in the laboratory. The most commonly used technique for this process is ICSI: Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection, which involves introducing a single sperm into the egg through a powerful microscope and gamete micromanipulation instruments.
Fertilization and embryonic development occur under controlled conditions (temperature, humidity, oxygen concentration, etc.). After the culture and corresponding selection of the embryos, they’re transferred by placing the best embryos in the uterus for implantation.
